You don’t have to limit yourself to pocket squares to showcase beautiful embroidery; individual motifs work well, too. If you are worried about the motif falling out of the pocket, you can attach a backing piece to the bottom of the design, cut to fit the size of the pocket.

There are certainly some amusing suggestions when it comes to choosing a motif. For instance, residents of a neighboring village are nicknamed “Sand Hares.” Wouldn’t it be fitting, then, to have a hare figure peeking out of the pocket?

Or what about leaves in the autumn?
