At first the angel with the shawl looks a little bit severe.
The design measures about 10 cm X 14 cm. It was stitched on handwoven linen with an 18/cm thread count.
The hairstyle was worked with half-eyelet scallops.
The wings were filled with Rose stitches (Basic Principles of Schwalm Whitework).
Magic net (Limetrosen I) was worked in the dress.
Because of the simple motif and the strict pattern of the dress, this angel ended up looking austere.
My graphic designer had an idea and added two more parts on each wing like a windmill.
These additional shapes were worked as outlines bringing to mind children lying on their backs and making angel figures in the snow.
Now this angel looks more pleasant, I think.
